September Housing Market Update
Transcript
Hello, it's so good to connect with you. I'm going to do this newsletter, I'm calling it "short and sweet." I'm calling it sweet because there is this really great little shop in my neighborhood that has a little promotion for a free cookie. And I thought, “That is awesome, I’m going to put that in my newsletter!” And it is a great way to introduce you to this local shop. I think it is actually owned by a former Chief’s player and it will get you something sweet. So, that is the sweet part. Let’s hope that I can stick to the short part. I do want to give you a little recap of what is happening in the real estate market as I know that most people find that helpful and interesting. So I know that most of us get our news and it is national news, right? So you are getting these big sweeping um, uh headlines that are, and I get this too because I have worked for several national brokerages and our brokerages are always wanting to tell us about the big news that is happening on the west coast or that is happening on the east coast or in these bigger cities, and Kansas city, you know we love it with our whole heart, but it can tend to be this fly over city where we don’t get a lot of attention and we don’t get a lot of things that are specific to us. So, I’m going to break it down for you with like what is actually happening in our city with what we actually care about and matters to us because this is where we live. So, um every year in the fall things will slow down a little bit. We’re still having a bit of lower inventory, although we’re having a tiny bit of an uptick in that, but what we’re seeing is that um still very condition-specific, right? So, if the house is just really amazing, done tons of updates, those still tend to move quickly, even in this market. Even with the interest rates where they are. And if the house is not quite as updated, it is just going to take a little bit longer to sell. But those homes are still selling. So, I just heard the CEO of Compass talk about the 5 D's because you’ve got Diamonds, Diapers, Degrees, Death, Divorce, right? People still, those things come up, there’s something you can’t do anything about and you are still going to end up needing to move, right? So, um but if you want me to get this something really personal for you, like, “Hey, I just remodeled my kitchen and I’m very curious. What did that do to my home value?” I’d love to have that conversation with you. Or if we are not Facebook friends yet, come and friend me on Facebook because I love getting updates, like I always tell people that I don’t have grandbabies, I have grand-houses. And I really love to get those updates! So, if you are doing something fun with your house, I really do want to know about it. I love to see those pictures and I love it when my clients will send me, “Hey, look at what we just did!” That’s the best. Because I love those kinds of updates, but I also love to get updates on you know you and your pets or your kiddos or your vacations or those kinds of things. It’s just fun to stay in touch. Anyways I hope that you are having a wonderful fall. Get out there and get that cookie! Calories don’t count in September. I just made that up, but anyways, wonderful connecting with you. Stay in touch. Hope your fall is going wonderful. Take care.
